San Francisco, CA, April 27, 2007 — Connecting people of faith with faith-based, not-for-profit organizations needing assistance is the mission of Vesper Service Network, a recently launched joint venture of San Francisco-based Vesper Society and KDM Consultants, Inc. of Milwaukee.

Vesper Service Network enables people with business expertise in such areas as accounting, project management and marketing to help faith-based, not-for-profit organizations improve their operations. Through an interactive online platform, www.vesperservice.net, volunteers set up a profile outlining their experience and skill set. Then organizations can easily find the volunteer who matches their project needs.

“People of faith want to use their business skills to make meaningful contributions—more than just stuffing envelopes—but they need a better avenue in which to do so,” says Kay Edwards, president of Vesper Service Network. “Our online platform allows people to connect with organizations that appreciate and value their assistance. And it’s easy to use. We want to do for faith communities and organizations what eBay does for garage sales.”

For Vesper Society, a private operating foundation, the new venture is the perfect vehicle to extend the vision of its founders, two Lutheran businessmen who dreamed of connecting lay professionals with the work of the church.

“In 1965, our founders envisioned a network of gifted leaders around the world whose skills and passions could be leveraged for the ministry of the church,” says Vesper Society President Mary Baich. “The Vesper Service Network is a 21st century expression of this vision.”

Vesper Service Network coordinates the expertise offered by its members with the needs of member organizations. Projects may be short or long term, depending on the time needed to complete the objective.

“Research shows many people want to offer their time, talents and energy in both a productive and meaningful way. Also, many faith-based, not-for-profit organizations are looking for such help but may be unsure of how to obtain the assistance they need,” Edwards says. “Our company allows the connection of both sides to achieve measurable outcomes.”

People wishing to offer their expertise as well as non-profit organizations looking for such help may contact Vesper Service Network at www.vesperservice.net, or by calling 262.754.8004.
